Metabolic Imperative

🩺 Medicine First mentioned: Ep. 216

A term coined by Dr. David Allen arguing that cannabinoids are not merely therapeutic but essential for basic biological function. The concept positions cannabis not as a medicine or recreational substance but as a dietary necessity for maintaining homeostasis through the endocannabinoid system.

Dr. David Allen explained that he progressed from calling cannabis a 'metabolic essential' to a 'metabolic imperative' based on research showing that blocking CB-1 receptors prevents sperm from entering the ovum (blocking conception). He argued both 'recreational' and 'medicinal' are propaganda terms designed to divide and conquer, and that cannabinoids should be in the diet of all humans and animals.
