Harlequin CBD Cultivar

๐ŸŒฟ Cultivation First mentioned: Ep. 134

A landmark high-CBD cannabis cultivar identified and propagated by Forest Lee starting in 2007-2008. Created from a Swiss landrace indica mother crossed with Colombian sativa and Thai sativa parentage. Forest was gifted the seeds and recognized the plant's therapeutic potential, distributing clones widely rather than monopolizing the genetics.

Forest Lee emphasizes he didn't breed Harlequin but identified and propagated it. The Swiss landrace mother had ~10-12% CBD and virtually no THC. The Colombian and Thai sativa parents were high-THC (mid-teens) with virtually no CBD. Nepalese plant had about 12% CBD and no THC. Harlequin became one of the most important CBD cultivars in medical cannabis history.
