Vintage Hash Terroir

๐Ÿ”ฅ Culture First mentioned: Ep. 174

The concept of identifying hash and cannabis harvests by their vintage year, similar to wine, where each season's unique weather patterns (rain timing, temperature swings, fire smoke) create a distinctive expression in the final product. Full-season outdoor plants interacting with living soils and local terroir over 5-6 months produce notably different hash than light-dep material harvested in 2.5 months.

Craig from Mendocino discussed how the 2022 September rain affected trichome density at plant apex versus lower branches. Nasha Extracts works with local Humboldt/Mendo farms to keep the supply chain short โ€” a 'shotgun blast radius' of manufacturing to farming. Craig's farm runs 7 cultivars timed for staggered harvest to maximize limited off-grid drying space. Baron (Nasha) reported continuously improving hash results from full-season seed-grown material versus clone-based light-dep.
