UV Light for Resin Production

๐ŸŒฟ Cultivation First mentioned: Ep. 210

Use of ultraviolet light (UVB and UVC wavelengths) in cannabis cultivation to stimulate higher resin and terpene production. UVC (100-280nm) is also used as an IPM tool to destroy powdery mildew spores and incapacitate pests like broad mites, thrips, and aphids.

Jenn Doe (SPEAKER_01) described Dutch Lighting Innovation (DLI, formerly Gavita) introducing UVC lights that increase resin and terpene production. Bubbleman discussed Grandmaster LED's Tarantula Predator light, a UVC-based IPM tool tested by deliberately infesting a grow with bugs. Thomas (GML/SPEAKER_08) joined and analyzed DLI's UV light sphere report, noting it showed nothing below 300nm, questioning whether it truly includes UVC (100-280nm). Bubbleman mentioned Chimera's concern about UVC potentially damaging mother plants at the DNA level.
