// Definition
A non-stick PTFE (Teflon-type) surface used for collecting rosin during pressing. Unlike parchment paper which transfers heat directly through, the Oil Slick pad spreads heat across its surface area, allowing lower temperatures with more pressure β similar to how cellophane was traditionally used to press and oxidise old-school hash.
// From the Episode
Tony Verzura explained that the pad βats just like cellophane when you take the old-school hash and you press it between cellophane and you oxidise it β this Oil Slick does that naturally.β The pad became popular equipment in the rosin community for achieving consistent, clean collection with minimal product loss.
