Mendelian Inheritance in Cannabis

⚗️ Science First mentioned: Ep. 258

The application of Gregor Mendel's laws of genetics to cannabis breeding, showing that cannabinoid type and terpene profile follow predictable dominant/recessive inheritance patterns. THC and CBD segregate in a 1:2:1 co-dominant ratio, meaning a cross of pure THC and pure CBD plants produces all mixed-type F1s, which then segregate 25% THC-only, 50% mixed, 25% CBD-only in the F2.

Ryan Lee (Chimera) presented this comprehensive breeding masterclass at Grow Up Vancouver and expanded it on Hash Church. David Watson and HN de Meijer at Hortapharm first demonstrated this CBD/THC segregation pattern using science.
