Long-Flowering Sativa Technique

๐ŸŒฟ Cultivation First mentioned: Ep. 072

A growing method attributed to Neville Schoenmakers where long-flowering sativa strains (10+ weeks) are placed directly into flowering as small rooted plants, since these varieties continue to vegetate while flowering, eliminating the need for a separate veg period.

Skunkman Sam shared this technique from playing chess with Neville in the 1990s: 'Any of the strains that literally will flower over 10 weeks, you can pop in when they're still little plants that have just developed roots and they will finish a couple feet high... they will continue to grow and vegetate while they're flowering. So you actually don't need a couple extra weeks of veg time.' Sam noted the best specimens came from 16 or even 24 week flowering periods, and he would reduce light by an hour in the last two weeks to trigger faster ripening.
