A legendary sativa-dominant cannabis strain originating from Santa Cruz, California. The original Haze was a combination of a Colombian (green and gold varieties), a Mexican, and possibly other genetics. Later versions incorporated South Indian and Thai genetics provided by Skunkman Sam.

Skunkman Sam provided the firsthand account: Haze was started by a friend of his in the hills of Santa Cruz, with Robert Connell Clarke also involved. The original Haze combined Colombian and Mexican genetics. Sam later contributed South Indian and Thai genetics that were added to create what he called 'the later Haze.' Bubbleman asked whether Neville's NL5 x Haze used the original or later Haze genetics. Sam discussed the Colombian expressions: green, gold, purple, and silver-blue phenotypes.
