// Definition
The question of whether CBD requires decarboxylation (conversion from CBDA) to be therapeutically active, given that CBD does not produce intoxicating effects regardless of its acid/neutral form. Unlike THC where decarboxylation is necessary for psychoactivity.
// From the Episode
Todd McCormick raised this on the show — since CBD won't get you high decarbed or not, does the acid form (CBDA) work differently? Anthony from C-Tech noted that non-decarbed material doesn't crystallize as efficiently. Mark Scialdone clarified that CBD IS psychoactive (active on brain receptors) but doesn't produce the 'high' of THC. The panel agreed CBDA and CBD affect receptors differently.
