Cannabis Microgreens

๐Ÿฉบ Medicine First mentioned: Ep. 018

Cannabis plants grown only in the vegetative state and harvested as young plant material for juicing or raw consumption, similar to lettuce or kale microgreens. Because vegetative cannabis does not produce flowers, it carries less legal risk in prohibitionist jurisdictions, does not produce strong odour, and still contains raw cannabinoids (THCA, CBDA) in their acid forms for non-psychoactive therapeutic use. A dose of 5-10 cold-pressed leaves daily is considered therapeutically viable.

Cannabis microgreens were proposed by Horatio in Episode 18 as a practical solution for people in restrictive regions who need cannabinoid therapy but face legal risk from flowering plants. The concept is elegant: vegetative cannabis doesn't produce the strong smell associated with flowering plants, doesn't look obviously like "marijuana" to uninformed observers, and can be grown alongside other kitchen herbs. Tony Verzura endorsed the concept, adding that juice can be frozen into ice cubes for every-other-day dosing. The approach provides access to CBDA and THCA โ€” the raw acid forms of cannabinoids that have their own distinct therapeutic properties without psychoactive effects. For patients who need daily cannabinoid support without intoxication, microgreen juicing offers a low-cost, low-risk pathway.
