// Who They Are
Pioneer cannabis author, photographer, and cultivator. Co-authored one of the first cannabis grow books with Ed Rosenthal in 1974, originally published as a two-part series in Rolling Stone's New York section. Studied biology, botany, and microbiology at City College in New York. Moved to the West Coast around 1975-76 where he became deeply embedded in the Northern California growing community. His macro photography of cannabis from the 1970s-80s (shared on Instagram) represents some of the earliest documented visual records of cannabis cultivation. His grows in upstate New York (1982 being his 'most successful one') are now historical artifacts of the prohibition era.
