Founder of the BC Compassion Club in Vancouver (1997), the first compassion club in Canada. Started as a teenager working at Marc Emery's Hemp BC store, began a bicycle delivery service for medical patients in 1995. Lived in Amsterdam studying at Positronics with Rob Clarke and Dave Watson, then briefly in California with Todd McCormick before the Bel Air raid. Returned to Vancouver to build the Compassion Club, which became the cornerstone of Canadian cannabis case law. Never accepted personal profit from the club, living in poverty to maintain ethical integrity.

" There's this wall that is prohibition and there's this plant on one side and there's this ocean of people that are suffering on the other. I'm going to kick the shit out of that wall until it starts coming down. "

" That would absolutely poison the integrity of what I'm trying to do. I cannot take profit. "
