Assistant Professor of Sociology at CalPoly Humboldt and co-director of the Humboldt Institute for Interdisciplinary Marijuana Research (HIIMR). He leads the California Department of Cannabis Control-funded 'Legacy Genetics: The People and Their Plants' grant, conducting ethnographic interviews to document the historical geography of cannabis genetics during the modern war on drugs. His background includes geopolitical drug war research in Bolivia, cannabis equity assessments for seven California jurisdictions, and co-founding the Cannabis and Social Policy Center in Seattle in 2013.
