THCA Testing Ceiling (30-34%)

⚗️ Science First mentioned: Ep. 125

The practical upper limit of THCA content in cannabis flower, observed at approximately 30-34% by experienced labs. Claims above this range (e.g., 39%) should be verified by multiple labs. Good labs routinely re-prep and rerun any sample testing above 30% to confirm accuracy.

Sam noted his lab in the early 1990s was excited to hit 25-27%. Sam emphasized that THC alone is a 'skeleton' — without the right terpenes, high THC makes strong but not great cannabis. Ryan mentioned the highest confirmed tests in the low 30s. Honey buds (dipped in oil) can reach ~40% but aren't natural flower. Extra sample material should be provided for backup verification.
