Terpene Ring Aging

⚗️ Science First mentioned: Ep. 256

A naturally occurring ring formation of terpenes that separates to the top surface of aged hash stored in refrigerated jars over years, with THC settling to the bottom, demonstrating long-term molecular conversion and stratification in properly stored cannabis resin.

Colin Palmer demonstrated a three-year refrigerated jar with visible terpene ring on top and THC crystals at bottom. Connected to research from University of Guelph on aging cannabis products. Kevin Jodrey discussed similar long-hold experiments from his own work. Raises questions about optimal long-term storage and the molecular conversions that occur over time in resin.
