Solventless Terpene Separation (TPS)

๐Ÿ’ง Extraction First mentioned: Ep. 205

A process for separating terpenes from cannabinoids without chemical solvents, using mechanical and thermal methods. TPS technology allows solventless producers to isolate terpene fractions from hash or rosin for later recombination or standalone products. Related to but distinct from steam distillation. The fullspec brand produces both rosin and solventless TPS products under the solar beare line.

Significant discussion about flower at 1.8% TPS yielding concentrate at 1.8% TPS, showing terpene preservation challenges. CRC was noted to remove TPS. One guest uses the aome method for solventless terpene work. The debate around whether TPS numbers on lab tests are reliable was raised.
