Wade initially presented in ep169 with what was thought to be vitamin D3 deficiency (blood level of 8 ng/mL vs normal 40-100) causing bone fragility. By ep170, the diagnosis had progressed to multiple myeloma. He wears a spinal brace due to vertebral erosion exposing his spinal cord. Wade described the experience as an opportunity to turn inward and accept the same compassion he has given others throughout his career as a cannabis healer. The Hash Church community rallied around him with a 'Compassion for Wade' support group.
