Hydrogen Peroxide Wash

๐ŸŒฟ Cultivation First mentioned: Ep. 008

A decontamination technique where harvested cannabis is rinsed in a dilute hydrogen peroxide solution to kill mold spores, bacteria, and other surface contaminants before drying or extraction. Used as a remediation step for material with powdery mildew or other microbial issues.

The panel discussed hydrogen peroxide as part of an integrated approach to managing microbial contamination. Bubbleman mentioned that water washing (bubble hash process) itself can help separate mold spores from trichome heads due to size differences at various micron levels. The technique was presented as preferable to discarding contaminated material entirely, though proper organic growing practices remain the first line of defense.
