Hookah Coal Dabbing

An early dabbing method from the 1990s where hookah charcoal briquettes were lit with a torch, allowed to burn off the gunpowder coating, and then used as a hot surface to vaporize hash oil, providing consistent and even heat before the invention of modern dab nails.

Described as the next step up from hot knives. Used at Phish shows and festivals. Required careful handling - could shatter plates. Preceded modern titanium and quartz nails by many years.
