// Definition
Two-way relative humidity control packs that both absorb and emit moisture to maintain a target humidity level inside sealed containers. Available in various RH levels (32%, 49%, 58%, 62%, 65%, 69%, 72%, 75%, 84%, 95%). The 58% packs are preferred for long-term storage while 62% packs are preferred for smoking/consumption jars.
// From the Episode
Todd McCormick described using 62% for smoking jars (makes joints burn longer, improves rosin squish) and 58% for storage. 320-gram curing boxes available for 5-kilo batches. Important for tax-by-weight markets: Boveda keeps a gram at a gram by maintaining moisture content. Sam noted that in the 70s-80s, cannabis packed in humid environments would condense and ferment when moved to cooler environments โ Boveda and proper climate-controlled packaging rooms solve this.
